1. On-Off Switch: The On-Off switch located at the top center of the T-handle is self-explanatory in operation. It is located for convenient access in starting your Kangaroo Cadet or, should the need arise, immediate power cut-off.
NOTE: Turn power switch to OFF when stopping. Do not turn speed dial to minimum setting to STOP caddie.
2. Speed Control: Speed is controlled by the dial knob located at the top center of the T-handle. The speed control decal indicates speed in relation to the dial's position.
There is a feature, known in technical terms as "ramp up", that automatically provides a gentle start at any speed setting up to, and including, full speed. Even so, your Kangaroo Cadet is very powerful and it is best to start out at lower speeds, at least until you become familiar with the caddie.
Caution:
Your Kangaroo Cadet free-wheels in the forward direction. On a hard smooth surface, it may roll freely. If used on a downhill grade, it may roll to the bottom of the hill if left unattended or if not parked crosswise to the slope. Please keep this in mind.
Normal Operation:
1. Check desired speed setting.
2. Turn ON-OFF switch to ON. You can vary the speed control to suit your own pace.
3. To stop, turn ON-OFF switch to OFF. There is no need to change the speed control when stopping and re-starting. The speed control has a very wide range and can operate down to very slow speed, so be sure that the switch isOFF when the motorcaddie is stopped.
Overcurrent Protection:
An electric motor draws current to meet the load placed on it. If the load is too great, there is danger that excess current will be drawn, damaging controls, wiring or the motor itself. An example of this could be a motorcaddie stopped by shrubs or trees, unable to roll, with the power still on.
Your Kangaroo Cadet is equipped with ingenious dual overcurrent protection circuits. It will turn itself off in any circumstance that causes the current draw to reach 30 amps for a sustained period of 30 seconds or 48 amps for a 5 second period. Should this occur, reset your Kangaroo Cadet by switching it OFF, manually, at the ON-OFF switch. After you have corrected the problem, cleared the obstacle, etc. turn your Kangaroo Cadet back ON and continue normal operation.
Should the terrain you play require you to frequently hold back on your Kangaroo Cadet going down hills, it would be wise to consider purchasing the optional downhill hand brake patterned after the highly successful Hillcrest manual brake. This brake is a friction type operating on the front wheel. Braking force is centrally located as well as being applied to the wheel with increased traction, giving maximum control in downhill situations. When the brake is actuated by holding onto the brake lever only, the proper amount of braking is applied. Its operation is not a function of personal strength. The load and grade control the degree of braking.
