What’s different about Kangaroo?
Kangaroo is the only electric golf caddie actually manufactured in the USA. We stand by the outstanding quality of Kangaroo products with exceptional customer service and after-the-sale support, from our North Carolina factory. If you’ve ever bought motor-driven or battery-powered equipment, you already know how important this is. Web sites and resellers often make claims how great their imported caddies are, but remember – many sell out of distribution warehouses where imported products aren’t even tested, or checked for damage before they go out to you.
How will a Kangaroo perform on my home course?
Most American golf courses have steep hills and long distances between greens and the following tees. Unlike imported products that are typically designed for shorter courses and flatter terrain, Kangaroos are designed and manufactured in the mountains of western North Carolina. That means our motorcaddies are well suited to the harsh terrain of our local courses, so they will perform well on your home course. Kangaroo has been making and servicing electric motorcaddies for walking golfers since 1972, the longest time of any company. We know North America, and we have satisfied owners in every state and Canada.

Is a Kangaroo really a better investment than other brands?
Yes, Kangaroos have significant resale values in the market because they're sturdier and last longer. Our engineering is way more durable. Many golfers have tried owning other brands first, but end up investing in a Kangaroo for this reason.
Why do Kangaroos cost more than other golf caddies?
We strive to make the best electric caddies in the industry. That’s why we don’t cut corners where others do, using high quality materials to ensure that Kangaroos are durable and reliable.
Do you offer financing?
Yes! We offer $1000 worth of financing toward Z-Series models. For 10 months, $100 monthly payments are applied automatically to your credit card. No interest!
With batteries and maintenance, how do I calculate what a Kangaroo will cost to own?
You can figure the battery will cost less than a dollar per 18-hole round. Assuming you own your caddie for five years, you're spending $500 per year when you purchase a top-of-the-line Z-Series. If you play 60 rounds annually, that will cost you $8.33 a round. For 100 rounds a year, it drops to $5 per round. Depending on the treatment of your caddie, you may also want to add some bucks for repairs.
Do you offer a referral program?
Yes! If a Kangaroo buyer lets us know that they were referred by a current Kangaroo owner, that owner will receive a $30 Kangaroo gift certificate.
Do you offer a trade-in program?
Absolutely! We offer a trade-in allowance for used Kangaroo and competitive models. Contact us to learn your trade-in's value (eligible towards the purchase of a new Kangaroo).
Battery Questions
Things you'll want to know
What are Kangaroos made of?
Unlike most other brands that are made of aluminum, Kangaroos are constructed with durable steel. Our polyurethane tires provide more grip than rubber alternatives.
Do Kangaroos have a brake?
Kangaroos don’t have a hand or parking brake. If you stop your caddie on a slope, we recommend turning it at an angle. Kangaroos instead have an AutoBrake feature. This electronically provides additional braking power when slowing or stopping on a downslope.
What’s the difference between Z-Series and Model 5 Cruiser?
Z-Series is Kangaroo’s remote controlled model. Model 5 Cruiser is designed to be used without remote control. Simply set the speed to your walking pace, and guide it as you would a push cart. Z-Series features a manual mode for non-remote use, but Model 5 Cruiser is not compatible with a remote.
What is the weight of a Kangaroo?
Every Kangaroo model consists of three parts: the chassis, front tube assembly, and handle. These parts can be assembled and disassembled for easy transport. In total, the Z-Series weighs approximately 50 pounds, and the Model 5 Cruiser weighs 35 pounds (not including batteries). For weights of each individual part, click here for Z-Series and here for Model 5 Cruiser.
Will a Kangaroo fit in the trunk of my car?
Yes! Because Kangaroos disassemble into three pieces, they fit more compactly in your trunk than fold-up models. A complete Kangaroo can even be placed in the trunk of a small sports car.
Where do I get repairs done?
Some areas in USA and Canada have authorized repair centers. Enter your town and state to see if there's one near you. Some of these folks pick up at your course or your home; for others you can take your Kangaroo in to their business.
Most Owners just call Kangaroo's North Carolina factory for live-service Customer Care. Experienced technicians can "hop on it", whether under warranty or out-of-warranty. Save the box and packing material your caddie comes in to ship whatever component needs fixing. You can request a Return Service label to easily ship the box via UPS or FedEx (cheap rates negotiated by Kangaroo, to add to your repair invoice). Just drop off the box with that label at your local shipping location.
Can I manually push a Kangaroo?
How do I clean my Kangaroo?
To protect the remote electronics and wiring harnesses, it isn’t recommended to hose off a Kangaroo. Instead, using a wet rag is the best way to keep your caddie looking shiny! Some owners have even used a leaf blower to clean grass off their cart.
Does Kangaroo offer a “follow me” feature?
At this time, Kangaroo caddies don’t offer such technology. We find it to be unreliable, as caddies with this feature are limited in where you can take them on the course. If you walk too far ahead, the caddie will lose its connection. A remote control Kangaroo can go virtually anywhere on the course, and be controlled up to 100 yards ahead of you.
Do Kangaroos have a safety shut-off feature?
On Z-Series, a safety feature is built in that causes the caddie to turn off automatically if a command is not given after approximately 20 seconds. Giving any remote command resets the clock. There’s no shut-off feature on Model 5 Cruiser or Z-Series in manual mode, so it’s important to set your speed at a manageable walking pace to maintain control.
