Is satisfaction guaranteed?
Yes! When you purchase direct from Kangaroo’s factory in North Carolina, or through one of our authorized resellers or golf professional, you can actually use the Kangaroo Z-series or Vortex to play golf — for up to 30 days with Satisfaction Guaranteed, or your full purchase price refunded (less shipping charges - the Kangaroo Golfstream has a 2 week satsfaction guarantee). When you read the fine print of such “guarantees” with import competitors, there’s usually a restocking fee – as much as 25% of your purchase price.
This gives you peace of mind if you haven’t visited our factory Showroom — or seen a friend’s where you play – your Kangaroo caddie will conquer the hills on the steepest golf course. It will operate as-promised. The design and durability of the Kangaroo will impress you, and live up to your expectations! And if you order an accessory to customize your model, and you decide you don’t need it after all, you can return that for full refund – no problem.
Can I try before I buy?
Our showroom is currently open by appointment only, but we are still happy to arrange demonstrations at our factory in Columbus, NC. With the help of our knowledgeable customer service team, you'll have a chance to see and test all of our Kangaroos.
If you live a long distance away or want to make your visit a vacation, accommodations are available at our Woodlane House, a cozy 4-bedroom rental, conveniently located next to our factory! Local attractions include lovely golf courses, hiking and equestrian destinations. Columbus is 5 minutes from Interstate 26 and is between Asheville, NC and Spartanburg, SC. Learn more and check availability at our dedicated Woodlane House website.
What’s different about Kangaroo?
Kangaroo is the only electric golf caddie actually manufactured in the USA. We stand by the outstanding quality of Kangaroo products with exceptional customer service and after-the-sale support, from our North Carolina factory. If you’ve ever bought motor-driven or battery-powered equipment, you already know how important this is. Web sites and resellers often make claims how great their imported caddies are, but remember – many sell out of distribution warehouses where imported products aren’t even tested, or checked for damage before they go out to you.
How will a Kangaroo perform on my home course?
Most American golf courses have steep hills and long distances between greens and the following tees. Unlike imported products that are typically designed for shorter courses and flatter terrain, Kangaroos are designed and manufactured in the mountains of western North Carolina. That means our motorcaddies are well suited to the harsh terrain of our local courses, so they will perform well on your home course. Kangaroo has been making and servicing electric motorcaddies for walking golfers since 1972, the longest time of any company. We know North America, and we have satisfied owners in every state and Canada.

How do I get technical assistance for my Kangaroo?
If you have a question, call us at 828-436-2101 extension 2230, and you’ll talk with experienced, friendly customer service and technical-service people who know what they’re talking about. We’re open Monday – Friday 8 – 5 Eastern Time. We have an in-house repair department to service your Kangaroo, and ship it back to you within a few days.
Save the box and packing material your caddie comes in to ship whatever component needs fixing. You can request a Return Service label to easily ship the box via UPS or FedEx (cheap rates negotiated by Kangaroo, to add to your repair invoice). Just drop off the box with that label at your local shipping location.
Is a Kangaroo really a better investment than other brands?
Yes, Kangaroos have significant resale values in the market because they're sturdier and last longer. Our engineering is way more durable. Many golfers have tried owning other brands first, but end up investing in a Kangaroo for this reason.
Does Kangaroo still make a remote-control model?
The Z-series remote model will resume factory production when radio components become available. Supply chain disruptions during 2021 halted production and it’s not expected new Z-series caddies will be manufactured until summer 2022. The existing back-order list of new customers waiting for Z-series is already filled, therefore no new orders can be accepted until those orders can be shipped.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes! We offer a 1 year warranty on all parts of the caddie that includes: chassis, wheels, handle, remote guidance system, front drive, lithium battery, charger and custom equipment.
Any failure as a result of defect in material or workmanship is covered. Owner is entitled to a no-charge repair or replacement, at our option, including necessary labor. All warranty repairs must be performed at Kangaroo’s factory in Columbus, North Carolina.
Warranty begins on the date of shipment to original purchaser. Batteries that fail to hold a charge within one year of the date of shipment will be replaced.
All accessories and gear come with a one year warranty from date of purchase.
With batteries and maintenance, how do I calculate what a Kangaroo will cost to own?
You can figure the battery will cost less than a dollar per 18-hole round. Assuming you own your caddie for five years, you're spending $500 per year when you purchase a top-of-the-line Z-Series. If you play 60 rounds annually, that will cost you $8.33 a round. For 100 rounds a year, it drops to $5 per round. Depending on the treatment of your caddie, you may also want to add some bucks for repairs.
Do you offer a referral program?
Yes! If a Kangaroo buyer lets us know that they were referred by a current Kangaroo owner, that owner will receive a $30 Kangaroo gift certificate.

How long does the battery last?
Battery life depends on frequency of use, how hilly your course is, and the weight of your bag. In general, you can expect 200 rounds out of a single battery.
Technical Caddie Questions
What are Kangaroos made of?
Unlike most other brands that are made of aluminum, Kangaroos are constructed with durable steel. Our polyurethane tires provide more grip than rubber alternatives.
Do Kangaroos have a brake?
Kangaroos don’t have a hand or parking brake. If you stop your caddie on a slope, we recommend turning it at an angle. Kangaroo Vortex instead has an Autobrake feature. This electronically provides additional braking power when slowing or stopping on a downslope.
What’s the difference between Z-Series and Vortex?
Z-Series is Kangaroo’s remote controlled model. Vortex is designed to be used without remote control. Simply set the speed to your walking pace, and guide it as you would a push cart. Z-Series features a manual mode for non-remote use, but Vortex is not compatible with a remote.
Will a Kangaroo fit in the trunk of my car?
Yes! Because Kangaroos disassemble into three pieces, they fit more compactly in your trunk than fold-up models. A complete Kangaroo can even be placed in the trunk of a small sports car.
How do I clean my Kangaroo?
To protect the electronics and wiring harnesses, it isn’t recommended to hose off a Kangaroo. Instead, using a wet rag is the best way to keep your caddie looking shiny! Some owners have even used a leaf blower to clean grass off their cart.
